Latin name: Prunus dulcis
Origin: Spain
Distilled part: Fruit of the almond tree
Uses: moisturizing, nourishing, soothing and restructurant. Vermifuge, Anti-lithiasic, expectorant, laxative.
Recommendations: Sweet almond oil, rich in vitamins A and B as well as in mineral salts, softens and tones up the skin, relieves irritations. It is most usually used  in aromatherapy for massages. It also enjoys properties anti-age, regenerating, moisturizing, soothing and nourishing. Little colored oil, fluid and of a very fine taste.

In cookery: Mixed in vegetable oil, essential oil and essences become much easier to use in cookery. Most adapt very well with olive oil but for more neutral oil try carthame oil, sesame oil, soya oil on the other hand for desserts which ask for a lot of sharpness, we can choice a vegetable oil as that of the sweet almond (but you should not make warm).
