Latin name: Thymus vulgaris zygis
Origin: Spain
Distilled part: Heading flowery
Botanical family: Labiaceae
Main constituents: Linalol, beta caryophyllene, gamma terpinene, trans thuyanol, myrcene, limonene, geraniol.
Uses: expectorant and anticough. Lung and renal antiseptic. Protector of the bowel, favors the elimination, stimulating functions of the liver.
In cookery: add 2 to 3 drops, according to the recipe, at the end of cooking of your culinary preparations.
Generally, count 1 drop by portion (person) or 2 drops for more steady flavors.
Some ideas:
You can choice an oil as olive, carthame, sesame, argan, soya, and add thym and lemon essential oil for salads and roasted meats. |
